You can transform your Guernsey holidays into something extra special by indulging in all sorts of treatments and therapies. So, to brush off the winter blues, why not book yourself at one of the hotels offering spa breaks or choose your own accommodation on the island and select any treatment you want? In addition to a bit of pampering, make sure you have a little free time to explore the island too.
Old Government House Hotel & Spa
Located in the centre of St Peter Port, The Old Government House Hotel & Spa is the only Guernsey establishment offering five-star luxury; the opulent rooms, immaculate service and extensive amenities make it a popular choice for families and couples alike. The OGH, as it is known locally, dates to the 18th century and was used as the Governor’s home and as the headquarters for German forces during the occupation.
The Spa at the OGH has a variety of facilities and expert therapists who are there to help soothe and refresh you, meaning you’ll easily be able to unwind and detoxify with the choice of what is on offer. The treatments available feature a range of products from Phytomer, which delivers fantastic, immediate results. The Spa offers pre-natal treatments, massage therapies, manicures and pedicures, tanning and holistic treatments such as hot stone massages and reflexology and other fantastic spa packages.
If you want your spa treat to include food, such as afternoon tea or a light lunch, then check out the package experiences. At the OGH, the experiences cater to hen parties and anniversaries, as well as classic spa treatments of your choice, perfect for indulging in some ‘me time’ on your holiday. The prices range from £20 for an eye treatment to £120 for a spa retreat day!
St Pierre Park Hotel
St Pierre Park Hotel is Guernsey’s largest resort, set in 36 acres of woodland and gardens, with a lake, nine-hole golf course and three tennis courts. The resort has recently undergone a refurbishment of the health club and spa, and now offers a breathtaking swimming pool, steam room, sauna, experience showers, treatment rooms and views of the lake and grounds. It’s an ideal destination for an indulgent spa break!
At the hotel spa, there is the chance to choose individual treatments and therapies to create a bespoke spa day and add on an afternoon tea! The package experiences range in price, with the lower price experience including a one-night stay and 55-minute treatment, and the higher price offering two 25 minute treatments, lunch and use of the health club, dinner in the restaurant, overnight stay and breakfast the next day.
The hotel uses ELEMIS products for their treatments, from the various facials to deep tissue massages. Other treatments available at the hotel spa include manicures, massages, waxing and combination packages, such as a cleansing facial with back, neck and shoulder massage, or full body scrub and massage.
Bella Luce Spa
Bella Luce is an exclusive boutique hotel, restaurant and spa set in a 12th-century country manor and a perfect place for a peaceful break, offering an intimate setting, though it does close in the winter season. However, the Bella Spa is open all year round and offers an array of beauty, body and facial services from trained professionals.
At Bella Spa, you’ll find there are plenty of treatments on offer, including personalised massages, where you can choose the pressure, and what type of massage such as aromatherapy or Swedish. They also offer hot stone, deep tissue and pre and post-natal massages, among others. Several facial treatments are offered too, all aiming to revitalise your skin, including a peel that exfoliates and regenerates your skin.
The spa also has special offers throughout the year, available Monday to Thursdays. An ESPA Ultimate Lift and Firm Facial will restore youthful vitality, skin tone and firmness, or you can go for the winter reviver, choosing two treatments from a back massage, express facial, hand or foot hot stone massage or head and shoulder massage.
The Lavender Rooms
The Lavender Rooms is a luxury beauty salon which has won several awards and has been a thriving business on Guernsey for nearly ten years. The salon uses the Decleor product range for their treatments, and it is natural and preservative-free. The treatments available at The Lavender Rooms include full-body massages, exfoliating therapies and a variety of facials. The beauty salon also offers manicures, pedicures, tanning, eye care and hair removal.
The treatments are priced at £100 and under, and the variety available allows you to be flexible on your holidays. The Lavender Rooms cater to men and women and have massages especially for pregnant or new mums, which include tummy masks and massages to soothe tired legs.
The Treatment Room
The Treatment Room is the place to go when you need to take your mind off the day to day worries, and a wonderful way to spend a morning or afternoon on your holiday to Guernsey. They offer a selection of services including electrolysis, cosmetic procedures and massage therapies, all carried out by specialist professionals.
Electrolysis is a method of permanently removing hair, and the treatment is offered in a relaxed, private environment. The facial treatments use Environ skincare products, that will leave your skin looking radiant, something we all welcome during the winter months! The Treatment Room also offers their signature Swedish massage, with the option to choose from a back, neck and shoulder massage or full body massage using aromatherapy oils. Any of the treatments will leave you released of tension and ready to get back to everyday life!
