Old Government House Hotel: Five Stars Ahoy!

Old Government House Hotel and Spa

The Old Government House Hotel & Spa was recently awarded the prestigious status of Guernsey’s only five star hotel.

Operating as a hotel since 1858, the Old Government House is steeped in Guernsey history. Sitting in a prime location in the centre of Guernsey’s capital St. Peter Port, the ‘OGH’ dates back to 1796, when the property was the official residence for Guernsey’s Lieutenant Governor, representing the Monarch in the island as well as the neighbouring Channel Islands of Alderney, Sark and Herm. The hotel also served as German headquarters during the occupation.

The Old Government House is a well-deserving five star hotel; all of the guest rooms are luxuriously designed and furnished, with customers able to relax and enjoy the various Darphin treatments on offer in the hotel spa. With two AA rosettes and a gold award from VisitGuernsey, the Old Government House restaurant features a fine dining menu in beautiful five star surroundings.

“This recognition is the culmination of the hard work of not only the whole team at the hotel but also that of our President and Founder Mrs Beatrice Tollman. She is steadfast in her commitment to the guest experience, and has invested heavily in refurbishment across the hotel to help us achieve the standards befitting Guernsey’s first five star property. We’d also like to thank Guernsey’s Department for Commerce and Employment for their continued support.”

– Andrew Chantrell, General Manager of The OGH

The Old Government House Hotel and Spa is open all year, with rooms available from £91 per person per night.
