Sarnia Shorts Film Festival, Guernsey19th – 21st October 2012
‘3 days, 74 short films and unlimited imagination’

Originally founded in 1991 as the Guernsey Lily Short Film Festival, the Sarnia Shorts Film Festival will bring Guernsey to cinematic life over three days this October.

The ‘Lily’ was widely seen as one of the best non-commercial film festivals in Britain, showcasing film-making talents and short films from around the globe. The Sarnia Shorts Festival aims to build on the Lily’s foundations, increasing student involvement, raising the international profile of the festival and promoting work within the community.

Festival Programme

Friday 19th October, 7.30pm

The opening night will feature a restored screening of Orson Welles’ The Chimes at Midnight, preceeded by the opening short film La Ultima Secuencia.

Saturday 20th October, 10.30am – 10pm

A day of short films from around the world, including a dedicated selection of short films from Guernsey entrants. Saturday’s selections will include a general mixture of styles, animations, international fiction and documentaries.

Sunday 21st October, 10.30am – 10pm

Another selection of fantastic short films and the 2012 winner’s show. Sunday’s films will feature a selection of fiction films from the UK and beyond.

There is a wide selection of awards for entrants, including Best Film of the Festival, Best UK Entry, Best International Entry, Best Local Entry (within the Bailiwick of Guernsey), Best Youth Entry, Best Student Entry, and many more.

A 3 day Festival pass can be purchased for £15 from the PRCPA Box Office – by telephone with a debit/credit card or in person (749999 Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm). This includes all sessions throughout the three day festival.
